From a very young age Carole Pfister Gulledge was interested in art. Sketching objects that caught her eye from nature and her surroundings. Carole discovered that she was a mood painter early in her art career. Many of her paintings are landscapes and water scenes, however floral and portraiture are among her vast accomplishments.
Carole majored in art at St. Joseph's College and also studied at the Chicago Art Institute. Carole studied with several art teachers in the Northwest Indiana area to expand her knowledge and skills. With more than 35 years of hands on experience she has put her education to excellent use.
The responsibilities of home and family came first and then her art. Painting as a hobby, filled her with the desire to share her knowledge and experience with others. She began offering private lessons and small groups in her home more than 35 years ago. Her lifelong dream of owning a studio and gallery has finally come to pass since living in Carmel. Pfister Art Gallery was so named in her father's memory.
Carole's art has been on display at the Carnegie Center in Crown Point, Indiana; plus the Crown Point Center Library in years past. Her work has also been displayed at a number of art show exhibits in the Northwest Indiana and Indianapolis areas. Her artwork has been auctioned at area charity benefits.
Carole currently offer classes in Oils, Acrylic and Watercolor. Children and adult classes are scheduled at convenient times. No previous drawing or painting experience necessary. Art is forever changing as you grow from your experiences, Carole said.
